The body is a sacred system giving home to the essence of life. The body, mind and spirit desire balance and homeostasis. Something we have forgotten over time. The unique system of balance is essential for our wellbeing.
More information about my journey…
I’ve been walking this earth for 36 years. Together with my wife (Nathalie) we have 2 beautiful sons (Mattiz & Vince) who support me in every possible way.
I grew up in Veurne not far from the Belgian coast and close to the French border. As a kid I loved playing outside, being creative and doing sports. My early fascination for the human body let me to opt for studying sciences and further grew as I competed in athletics on a professional level.
In July 2011 I graduated from the University of Leuven with a MSc. in Movement Sciences and Psychomotor Therapy. Shortly after I started in psychiatric hospitals as a psychomotor therapist, working with all kinds of people including their vulnerabilities (Psychosis, addiction, trauma, eating disorders, Korsakov, mood disorders, etc.).
The way people cope with their vulnerabilities and importantly how they could become more resilient and improve their wellbeing were topics that intrigued me. This led me to the decision to combine my work in the psychiatric hospital with being a self-employed therapist.
In 2016, I started working with delinquents in the correctional facilities of Dendermonde & Beveren where I worked as an Anti-aggression Coach, officially recognized by the Flemish Government, with people who had sentences ranging from a few months to several years.
Two years later, a new challenge crossed my path as I was invited to work with ‘Waasland-Beveren’, a professional soccer club. There I worked with youth and the U21 as mental coach, until I got promoted to the first team. I became the first mental coach in the history of the club, which at that very moment played in the Jupiler Pro League in Belgium. That year the U21 became Champions of their league and the other youth teams were performing outstandingly.
Parallel to this, in 2020 I started working with my mentor Cathy Coyle, a transpersonal coach and psychologist who works with transcendent states in Ireland & South Africa. Working with sacred medicines from the Earth, I received my first experiences in these states, making me feel humble and deeply privileged for being able to live this unique experience. The medicine felt so familiar and something in my body recognized this. The work led me to realize that something had been previously missing in my work and delivered me a clear message: it was my calling to work with these transcendent states through sacred medicine.
Having discovered my purpose it nevertheless took a while to fully embrace those newly-learnt lessons. Eager to learn more about these states and searching for possibilities to implement them into my work I started learning more about Holotropic breathwork, Shadow work, Archetypes, Jungian Therapy and Dream work. Thanks to those therapies, I learned how to go beyond the classical cognitive behavioral therapies and navigate within the unconsciousness to provide psychological healing and growth.
In 2020, I enrolled in an Intermittent living training to learn how to work with mild, familiar, hormetic stressors (cold, heat, fasting, thirst, breathwork), allowing me to dive deeper into body work and the associated body mechanisms on molecular and energetic level. Subsequently I started with the study of Orthomolecular Medicine, I graduated in June 2022. Currently I'm enrolled in the course of Master in Clinical Psycho Neuro Immunology.
